This guy is the GOP front runner
Nuff said. Or maybe not nuff. This guy is immune to Bad Lip Reading.

Ugly all the way down
When I watched 60 Minutes' interview with Joe Biden last night, I expected Bob Somerby to write about it, and he doesn't disappoint. I suspect he may be right about the source (he's speculating that it was Jill) -- but, as he says, it doesn't matter much. Joe allowed this slime to float around for three months in the community's water supply until there was no longer any chance it would help him.
And actually, it's worse than that. He and whoever actually dished to the Dowd lifeform didn't just engage in the creepiest kind of tabloid sleaze directed at Hillary, but they used their own tragedy to do so. They soiled the deathbed of their son -- or, if he really did say this, showed us all the home video of him soiling it -- to do so. How sick, how hate-filled is that?

She's Mad
As a hatter. Carly's mind-blowingly transparent Big Lie about Planned Parenthood is now well beyond cynical politicking. She is now getting medieval on our asses. She's going all-in on political grand guignol.
People always talk about themselves, whatever they believe themselves to be talking about. The inside of her head is one goofy, scary place. She's about one interview away from animadverting in the lobby of the Port Authority.

A question to be asked
Specifically, I wonder if anyone -- like Trump -- will ask Carly about this tomorrow night. Forget how unready for prime time she is for the general. She's extremely vulnerable in the primaries.

Charles Pierce sees it - updated
And he puts it so well: No more fucks to give. More of this, please.
Update: I ask for more, and more arrives. Thank you, sir.

Yes, I know the source
And yes, Lanny Davis is Lanny Davis. But if his facts are correct, this is a compelling argument.

This "-gate" is rusty
Kurt Eichenwald debunks emailgate. Which won't, of course, stop the Times and other CDSers from squeaking.

This is what ready for prime time looks like
It's so clear why people in their law school class at Yale believed that Bill was the one who had won the lottery. She really is the most substantial and smartest person in any room she walks into.

Her obsession is eternal - Updated
Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite malignity. Maureen Dowd really is a woman possessed, as mad as a hatter and a continuing stain on the New York Times. And now her hatred for Hillary has led to this: she's pimping the absurd and creepy idea that Joe Biden will challenge for the nomination.
I feel sorry for Biden. But when are they going to drag this madwoman away from the podium?
Whatever else this vomititious spew produces, it will make Bob Somersby's pen explode.
Update: And, of course, the obsessive enabler is primarily at fault. The Times itself has a Hillary problem of long standing -- a problem that cannot, it seems, be expunged by the familiar best disinfectant.
Update 2: Bob doesn't disappoint. This is exactly how I react to Dowd's piece. The melodrama, sentimentality and cruelty of claiming that a dying saint used his last breath to warn against the Clinton-devils incarnate is not only a profound slander on Hillary and Bill, but it's also a horribly creepy manipulation of Joe and Beau Biden. One must ask: Have you left no sense of decency, Ms. Dowd? Have you no sense of decency?

Prime time - readiness division
We can already confirm that reports of Jeb Bush's political death are post-mature. It's not just that his out-of-touchitude is immediately being underlined by the data -- as in the wire-service pieces on his gaffe -- but that it plays into an already strongly-held existing narrative, the congenital out-of-touchness of his family: 41's supermarket scanner gaffe, Dubya after Katrina, and Jeb's own flubbing of the most obvious question he would be given as he began his campaign, on Iraq.
Further, the great sucking sound we're hearing is of the air rushing out of the GOP clown car and into the lungs of epic-fail candidates. So far, it's the Donald and the Jeb! and the, er, Tanned One. The others will follow. In fact, that sucking sound is the noise that an institution and culture in decline makes.

Gail Sheehy nails it
Didn't expect to write a headline like that -- but she's right on the money. This is why Hillary will win in a romp -- and why she'll be a great president.
